CeBIT 2017 SCALE11 start-up platform broadens international focus

There are plenty of start-up platforms in Europe at the moment, but none are as fast-growing or international in scope as SCALE11 at CeBIT. Six months in advance of the next CeBIT, the organisers are pleased to announce two new SCALE11partners.

Heading into the 2017 season, the CeBIT trade show’s dedicated start-up platform, SCALE11, is now even more international in scope, with two new partners having joined an already very strong network of partners. The newcomers are Germany’s Business Angels Network (BAND) and the Swiss ICT Investor Club (SICTIC). They will feature in the 2017 line-up of SCALE11, which runs from 20 to 24 March 2017 in Hannover, Germany.

‘”The purpose of our SCALE11 partnerships is to facilitate dialogue and interaction among investors, established companies and young start-ups,'” commented Oliver Frese, the Deutsche Messe Managing Board member responsible for CeBIT. ‘”At this year’s SCALE11 we had over 300 start-ups from 40 nations, and for next year we’re aiming to increase that figure to over 400,'” he added.

To further boost the investor/start-up contact rate, next year’s SCALE11 – so called because it is held in Hall 11 at CeBIT – will feature a new ‘”Investors Club'” area where budding young entrepreneurs and potential investors can hold confidential talks in private.

Next year’s SCALE11 is still six months away, but it’s already shaping up to be even more international in scope than ever, with individual participants and group pavilions from countries that have never before featured at the event. For instance, Deutsche Messe has already received registrations for a 10-strong group pavilion of young start-ups organized by the Iran ICT Guild.

SCALE11 2017 will also be more interactive than ever before. Frese: ‘”Hall 11 will be even more interactive for the participants – for the start-ups and also for the investors, established companies and political leaders. We have a number of things planned to lend Hall 11 something of the dynamic, creative vibe of international co-working spaces. For example, we’ve dispensed with the large central conference stage in favour of multiple activity zones located right where all the action is.'”

SCALE11 will also be enhanced in terms of an even wider range of topics covered, with two new theme zones – dedicated to artificial intelligence and block chains – joining last year’s line-up of 15 themes.
