IFA 2017 Puts Innovations Within Global Reach as Show Opens September 1 in Berlin

The world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, IFA Consumer Electronics Unlimited (http://b2b.ifa-berlin.de/; http://www.ifa-berlin.de/), is putting innovations within reach of visitors from across the entire world as the show opens in Berlin, Germany, on September 1, 2017.

IFA 2017, which promises to be a festival showcasing the convergence of technologies highlighting virtually all areas of human endeavours – from the home to office, from sports to technical fields, and from the most established business conglomerates to the most recent start-ups, is set for  record breaking attendance figures as well as exhibitor numbers.

Taking place at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds (ExpoCentre City) from 1 to 6 September 2017, this year, the show will in addition offer ‘IFA Global Markets’ as a segment introduced to enhance the information and exhibitions on offer for professionals and experts. IFA Global Markets will feature from September 3 to 6 at Station Berlin.

Other great highlights of this show, which prides itself as being the ‘Official Partner of the Future Since 1924’ will also feature the world’s most athletic athletics festival, ISTAF, which is joining the world’s leading industry highlight of the year for all technical enthusiasts, IFA, thus offering a combined ticket in 2017.

As such, technology and sport fans will be able to visit the International Stadium Festival ISTAF at the Berlin Olympiastadion on August 27 and the IFA at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds (ExpoCentre City) from September 1 to 6.

At the 76th ISTAF on 27th August 2017, about 180 top athletes from all over the world will compete in the Berlin Olympiastadion, including the two Berlin Discus Olympians Robert and Christoph Harting, French pole vault world record holder Renaud Lavillenie, the German Sprint Aces Gina Lückenkemper and Lisa Mayer, 1,500-m shooting star Konstanze Klosterhalfen as well as the big World Cup favourites in the spearwurf – Thomas Röhler and Johannes Vetter ( www.istaf.de ).

The ISTAF is enthusiastic every year with more than 180 athletes from 40 nations, who compete in 15 disciplines, around 50,000 spectators. At the ISTAF, top performances are again and again being achieved, as can be seen from 16 world records recorded so far.

The IFA is not only the hotspot for technology events from all over the world, but also an open air festival, a cultural mile and a pleasure fair IFAtainment. Nowhere else can star chefs, actors, sportsmen, musicians and celebrities from the media and politics be experienced at this density up close and live.

In addition, the IFA 2017 will for the first time present a unique and larger stage for innovation. IFA NEXT, the IFA + Summit and the IFA + show, will be transformed into a unique innovation hub with IFA + Summit, IFA + Summit and IFA NEXT Showcase, a new meeting place for entrepreneurs and researchers, IFA NEXT.

New IFA GLOBAL MARKETS sourcing conference discusses the latest buying trends and strategies the world has to offer

IFA Global Markets Expert Talks hosts the platform for a meeting of some of the most accomplished international buyers representing consumer electronics, consumer IT and home appliances.

International buyers who regularly work with private labels, OEMs and ODMs around the world have already confirmed their attendance. Among them are Tobias Redlin, managing director of iGo3D, Europe’s biggest distributor of 3D desktop printers and accessories; Rebecca Fuchs, head of Retail Sales at Nimans, UK’s largest distributor of telecoms and data equipment, and Mike Lange, managing director of Z-Wave Europe GmbH, a leading distributor of wireless smart home solutions.

IFA Global Markets Expert Talks will provide buyers, manufacturers and the media with an insight into the latest developments, opportunities and challenges in this sector, while addressing different product categories. For the first time IFA 2017 will feature a unique and even larger stage for innovation. IFA NEXT brings together what belongs together: global know-how for the future of technology, business and lifestyle. With a newly designed meeting place for entrepreneurs and researchers –IFA NEXT – Hall 26 will be transformed into an unparalleled hub for innovation.

As part of IFA NEXT the IFA Keynotes and IFA+Summit will take place in Hall 26, along with an independent exhibition area entitled IFA NEXT Showcase. Accompanying this area will be the IFA NEXT start-up Days, featuring an international start-up exhibition and the presentation platform IFA NEXT Engine.

IFA NEXT Start-up Days:

The event comprises six startup-themed days with presentations, panel discussions, and pitches. Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V. is the official partner and organizer of this event, which will also feature 20 new startups each day on a different topic.
